Academy News 27th November 2017
Yet another week closer to Christmas, with next week heralding the beginning of Advent and the month of December.
As we approach Advent it gives us the opportunity to reflect on the year that has passed. For the Academy this year has held a lot of change and as a school we are now looking to embed those changes and ensure that everything is running as it should. We are aware there are still areas for us to improve but this provides us as a community with a exciting opportunities.
During November, I and several other members of staff have taken up the challenge of ‘Movember’. I must firstly apologise for anyone who has had the misfortune of coming into contact these hirsute members of staff, as their facial hair ranges from the ridiculous to the sublime. Secondly I must thank all those who have contributed funds to this good cause that raises awareness around men’s health and wellbeing. If anyone would like to contribute to our fundraising all donations are warmly received.
Finally for this week, the pupils of St Edward’s have demonstrated their hard work and commitment to their studies achieving yet more house points and providing some stunning work in all aspects and subjects of the Academy.
This can only happen when as pupils they are focussed, supported at home and in school. Well done to them all for their continuous drive to improve.
House Point totals to Friday 24th November 2017.
As always, I end this blog with a quotation from the great President of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln.
“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
