Academy News 14th May 2018
The obvious topic of conversation for Head Teachers across the country is the Year 6 pupils and their SATs examinations. We are so very proud of all of you and your teachers’ hard work and commitment to this goal. In the words of a famous trainer brand, now is the time to ‘Just do it!’
Looking to the future, on Friday a circus skills group will be training our Year 6 pupils in team work and more importantly letting them have some fun.
The week after next, Year 7 pupils are travelling to France and will share experiences, laughter, friendship and a different culture, hopefully developing their language skills at the same time and maybe catching the ‘travel bug’.
After half term, Year 7 visit Dovedale to complete Geography fieldwork and investigate the power of water in the ancient limestone landscape of the Manifold Valley.
Year 6 then visit Cornwall and in particular the Eden project, whilst Year 8 pupils will spend time at their transition school and we welcome our 2018-19 Year 5 pupils.
During all these activities, our various sports teams and athletes will travel the county to challenge themselves. This year they will compete in the first Staffordshire Middle schools combined athletics events.
As you can see, we have an action packed few months ahead.

As always, I will finish with a quotation. This week I have chosen one from Dr Seuss:
”Be who you are and say how you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter done mind.”
