Academy News 12th March 2018

Dear All,

Many thanks to the parents/carers who attended the meetings regarding our recent Ofsted report and the level of support that was offered as we continue to improve the Academy’s provision for your children.

This week all the pupils have received assemblies from Reverend Irons explaining what Holy Communion is, what it means to be confirmed and why it is central to our Christian faith. We will be offering the confirmation course for pupils to take part in at the Academy. We would, therefore, encourage any parents who have a child that they feel would like to be confirmed to contact us so that we can arrange for them to gain a place on the preparation course.

Walking through the main corridors of the Academy this week has been even more of a pleasure than usual due to the culinary skills of our pupils. The glorious aromas of curries, pastries and desserts have pervaded the building and all those pupils involved should be very proud of themselves. To view images of the excellent culinary creations, please see the Academy’s Facebook page, which includes all of our updates and the many activities taking place each week.

As we have celebrated International Women’s Day this week, I will end this blog with a quotation from the American Poet, Maya Angelou, a woman whose words have challenged and empowered many people:

“You many encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.”

God Bless,

Mr Hutchinson
